1. Initial Inquiry
Start your journey with us by reaching out! Contact our school office by phone or through our website inquiry form. We’ll provide you with a digital information packet and answer any preliminary questions about our programs and Montessori philosophy.
-
2. Schedule a Campus Tour
Experience MCS firsthand! Schedule a personal tour of our campus to explore our classrooms, meet our educators, and discover the unique learning environment we offer. During your visit, you'll learn about our curriculum, daily routines, and how we support each child’s growth.
-
3. Submit an Application
After your visit, if you feel MCS is the right fit for your family, you can submit an application form along with a $100 non-refundable application fee. This step officially begins the admissions process for your child.
-
4A. Classroom Observation
For Toddler and Pre-Primary applicants, the admissions process includes one-on-one classroom observation, allowing teachers to see how your child engages with Montessori materials and interacts with peers. While your child explores, parents will meet with our school director for a brief conversation to share insights about their child’s needs and learn more about our program.
-
4B. Student Interview
For Kindergarten and Lower Elementary applicants, the admissions process includes a short, informal student interview in place of a classroom observation. This allows a teacher to engage with your child in a relaxed setting and get a sense of their readiness for our program. At the same time, parents will have the opportunity to meet with our school director for a brief conversation to discuss their child’s needs and learn more about the Montessori experience at this level. If a short visit to the classroom is desired, one can be arranged to provide your child with a glimpse into the daily environment.
-
5. Enrollment Decision & Next Steps
Following the interview, we will notify you of your child’s enrollment status. If accepted, you will receive an enrollment packet to complete. A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your child’s place. Once this is done, you'll sign the tuition contract and join our wonderful MCS community!

Enrollment Availability Policy
At Montessori Children's School, we strive to provide a thorough and thoughtful admissions process that ensures the best fit for each child and family. Due to high demand and limited availability in our classrooms, enrollment spots are offered on a first-come, first-served basis upon completion of the admissions process.
While we make every effort to accommodate all applicants, we cannot guarantee that a spot will be available by the time a child's scheduled interview or assessment occurs. If our classrooms reach capacity before the admissions process is completed, families will be notified immediately so they can make an informed decision on how to move forward.
At that time, families will have the following options:
Waitlist Option – If a spot is not available at the time of the child's interview, families may choose to be placed on our waitlist. Should an opening arise, we will contact waitlisted families in the order applications were received.
Future Enrollment Consideration – Families may opt to defer their application to a future term or academic year without having to resubmit initial paperwork.
Community Engagement Option – Families who wish to stay connected with our school while awaiting an opening may be invited to attend select community events, parent education workshops, or open houses. This allows families to remain engaged with our Montessori community and gain valuable insights into our philosophy and programs.
We appreciate your understanding and encourage families to complete their applications as early as possible to maximize the opportunity for placement. If you have any questions regarding availability or waitlist procedures, please contact our admissions office at mcsoffice@mcswestlake.org.
