• Spanish: Opening Doors to a World of Language

Introducing children to a second language like Spanish is a powerful way to broaden their horizons and build cognitive flexibility. During our Spanish Specials, children immerse themselves in new sounds, words, and cultural experiences. This early exposure enhances their ability to pick up languages more easily in the future and sharpens their problem-solving and communication skills. By learning about different cultures through language, children develop empathy, respect, and a global perspective. Our Spanish program is not just about vocabulary; it's about opening doors to new ways of thinking and connecting with the world around them.

Our Spanish programming is lead by Spanish-native, Yesica Panora. She is a mother to a current MCS student, and one of our amazing alumni!

  • Music: The Rhythm of Learning

Music is a universal language that connects us all, and it plays a vital role in a child's educational journey. At MCS, our Music Specials are designed to engage children’s natural love for rhythm and sound. Singing, dancing, and experimenting with instruments help develop motor skills, auditory awareness, and even mathematical thinking through patterns and beats. Music also enhances memory, listening skills, and emotional expression. By exploring different genres and cultures, children gain a deeper appreciation for diversity and community. This joy-filled exploration of music fosters a lifelong love for sound, creativity, and connection with others.

Music programming is lead by Laura Simna, mother to three MCS students, accomplished musician, and brilliant violinist.

  • Greenhouse: Connecting with Nature

The Greenhouse at MCS is a place of hands-on discovery, where children nurture plants and learn about the natural world. In our Greenhouse Specials, students plant seeds, tend to the garden, and observe the cycles of life. This experience teaches them about responsibility, patience, and the interconnectedness of nature. Children develop a deep respect for the environment as they witness the magic of growth and understand where their food comes from. The Greenhouse not only enriches their scientific understanding but also cultivates a sense of wonder, care, and stewardship for the world around them.

  • Library: A Gateway to Lifelong Learning

Our Library Specials invite children into the enchanting world of books, where imagination, knowledge, and curiosity intertwine. At MCS, the library is more than just a room full of books—it’s a space where children explore new ideas, learn about diverse cultures, and travel to distant places through stories. An important part of our program is teaching children the responsibility of checking out their own books, fostering a sense of ownership and independence in their reading journey. Reading nurtures cognitive development, vocabulary growth, and empathy as children connect with characters and experiences different from their own. In our Library Specials, students are encouraged to become avid readers and critical thinkers, laying the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.

Our resident librarian, Jamison Bays, is a lifelong book lover, skilled storyteller, and proud MCS parent.

  • Art: Where Creativity Takes Flight

Art in our Montessori environment is more than just drawing and painting—it’s a doorway to self-expression, critical thinking, and emotional growth. Through art, children explore their creativity, experiment with materials, and express their ideas in a tangible form. They learn patience, focus, and problem-solving as they work through projects, discovering that there are many ways to approach a challenge. Art nurtures confidence, encourages open-mindedness, and celebrates individuality, all while providing children with a joyful and fulfilling experience. In our Art Specials, each child learns to embrace the beauty in the process, not just the final product, allowing them to take pride in their own unique creations.

This program is lovingly lead by Ms. Dolores, our resident artist and Toddler Teaching Assistant.

  • "The best decision we have made with our kids yet - was to send them to MCS. Our daughters can't wait to go to school each morning, and we can't wait to hear what they tell us, when we pick them up, each afternoon! The facility is so thoughtfully maintained, and the staff exceeds expectations."
