Ms. kitty – enrichment care directress
Ms. Kitty serves as the Enrichment Care (EC) Directress at Montessori Children’s School, where she has the joy of working with children ages 3 to 9 in a dynamic and ever-evolving classroom.
With a nurturing approach, Ms. Kitty often refers to herself as a “Day Grandma”—a title that perfectly captures her commitment to creating a warm, supportive, and home-like environment for the children in her care. Her goal is to ensure that each student’s after-school experience is both enriching and comforting, meeting their individual needs in a way that feels natural and engaging.
Ms. Kitty’s journey to MCS was an unexpected but deeply fulfilling one. She studied accounting at Cleveland State University and spent years as a Credit Analyst at a local bank before stepping away to raise her family. When she was ready to return to the workforce, she knew she wanted to work with her true passion—children. However, her connection to MCS began long before she officially joined the staff in 2015.
Her sister-in-law, Sherry Donegan (affectionately known as Mrs. Donegan, our beloved Pre-Primary Directress),worked at MCS for years, her husband, Dan, built cabinets and cubbies for the classrooms, and her oldest daughter even spent a year working at MCS after college. Ms. Kitty had also volunteered in her daughter’s classroom from 2008-2009, an experience that ultimately led to the MCS Director offering her the EC Directress role—a position she was honored to accept.
Born and raised in Bay Village, Ms. Kitty chose to raise her own three daughters in the same close-knit community. When she’s not at MCS, she enjoys gardening, reading, and taking long walks with her always-energetic Aussiedoodle, Oliver. She also has a deep love for the ocean and snorkeling, with one of her most exciting underwater discoveries being an octopus!
For Ms. Kitty, MCS is more than a workplace—it’s a family. She feels incredibly blessed to be part of a school filled with beautiful children, kind families, and the most supportive colleagues.
