Ms. Tarra – Toddler directress
Ms. Tarra brings a caring heart and boundless enthusiasm to MCS as the Lead Teacher in the 2-day/3-day toddler program. She finds true joy in witnessing the excitement of her young students as they explore their favorite activities and develop unique interests. For her, the best part of each day is seeing a child’s face light up over a beloved classroom moment.
Ms. Tarra’s journey with Montessori began in 2021, after years of working with children in various roles. She holds a degree in Social Work from Calvin University and worked as a social worker until she became a full-time mom. Once her three children started school, she knew she wanted to continue working with kids. Her passion led her to MCS, where she quickly fell in love with the Montessori philosophy. She now holds a Montessori Certificate through NAMC and continues her education with specialized trainings, recently earning certifications in supporting dual language learners, fostering reading foundations, and using play to build nurturing relationships.
Her favorite part of the Montessori method is “following the child,” allowing her to tailor lessons and the classroom environment to each child’s interests and abilities. She adores working with toddlers, captivated by the growth they experience in just one year. Talking with toddlers, hearing their ideas and expressions, and sharing their unfiltered joy and humor is the highlight of her day.
Outside of MCS, Ms. Tarra cherishes time with her family of five and finds peace in quiet moments on her deck, sipping coffee and enjoying nature. A true Cleveland sports fan, she looks forward to family outings at Cavs and Guardians games each year, and she’s an avid fan of live comedy, including Saturday Night Live.
Inspired by the importance of early childhood development, Ms. Tarra’s “why” is to help young children build a love for learning and confidence in themselves. She is thrilled to be part of MCS during its period of growth and looks forward to welcoming new families into the community.
For Ms. Tarra, connection is key. She wants parents to know that her primary goal is to build a meaningful bond with each child, ensuring they feel loved, respected, and valued for their individuality. As she often says, “Children won’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”
